Wow it’s now officially 2010! The holiday season flew by so fast now a brand new year awaits us. I had a great time with my family and I have holidays photos I’m dying to scrap. I’m planning to scrap differently this year, I would like to make more meaningful pages thus I want to put more journaling on them. I want my pages to tell more stories about our life, my daughter–everything about her and about me too. I would like to take more photos of us and not just the little girl. I also want to learn more about photo editing to make the pictures I take look even better. It would be nice to learn a new skill this year. I think my dad does too, I have read about motorhome towing the other day and I’m pretty sure my dad would be interested in that.
I can’t wait to see what the new year have for me and my family. I’m looking forward to another year full of memories

Don’t forget to drop by the store and checkout the new items this week. If you have lots of items on your wish list now is the time to shop as well, SSD doesn’t hold a sale like this very often to take advantage of this one. You have three days to shop til you drop

Being a scrapbooker of course the need for digital cameras is quite obvious. I’ve been using a point and shoot camera all these years, thinking it is good enough for me and what I need. It was good enough yes but I came to a point where I felt that we’re ready to move forward, so we got a DSLR.

This wasn’t my first choice but my husband wanted to get this so I let him. It doesn’t matter to me anyway, so what if it’s not a common choice for SLRs. I have friends ask me why we got this particular when clearly there’s not much difference in pricing with other more popular brand. Well I’m pretty happy with it, true I have much more to learn but even with auto I can see the difference with my point & shoot. The purchase was really worth it, I just wished we’ve thought about this sooner.

I’m really looking forward to this class (registration will start tomorrow) by Jessica Sprague. As a scrapbooker, I want to be better in telling stories. Journaling is not my strongest point in scrapbooking, I sometimes even struggle with it. I want to learn how to tell my stories, afterall this is why I scrapbook…so I can have the memories and stories of our family on my pages. Now I have to go check out cheap auto insurance online so I could give my mom a rough estimate of how much it will cost.

I love the airbrush look of the photos in the glossy magazine covers. I’m just amazed with how much it can change the look of a photo, make it pop even more and hide the flaws of the models. I must admit by straight out of the camera shots needs a little tweaking most of the time but I’m no airbrush expert here. I don’t intend to alter my photos to perfection either (it’s not for a magazine it’s for my scrapbook pages) because the photos tells the story and I want my stories to be real. I know magazines needs to have perfect photos all the time but me, eh I’m fine with the everyday photos I take. I’ll just admire the magazine cover photos…

feel a lot like Christmas all through the town…
Sorry I’m sort of in the Christmas mood today. I’m just thinking about the holidays and how it’s going to be Halloween soon then Thanksgiving and before I knew it will be Christmas season once again. One thing I love about the holidays are great food. Just thinking of paella pan and log cakes makes me look forward to the holidays even more. Of course I have a lot of shopping to do and after the holidays lots of photos to scrap with so that’s fun too. So do you look forward to the holidays too?

I only have around 100gb free space on my current external hard disk so I wasn’t so happy about that. I didn’t want to delete any files stored in it as well to free up some space so I told my husband I needed more space. Okay so 100gb is still a lot of space really but with the amount of stuff I get weekly and me designing I think it would be better to have more space right? So he got me a 320gb hard disk last week and I’m thrilled. Now I can keep my kit designs and layouts in a different hard disk. I think I need HDMI switches though, I’m not sure I have to ask my husband about that. I also need to back up the pictures on the other hard disk. I have about two months worth of photos not backed up yet.

I haven’t been able to access this blog and my mommy blog for a couple of days now. The attempts to fix my problem through the help of the customer support of my web host have failed. There was a problem with the database and my username and password got erased and my email too so I couldn’t log in. I’m just glad my husband is good with computers and he has able to fix my problem. I’ll be sending a “very nice” email to the customer support later. I’m just happy to be blogging here again. I have a lot of things I wanted to blog about and I can finally do it now. While I was waiting for my blogs to get fixed I passed the time by playing with the little girl and reading articles online. I even read about smoker life insurance, not that we need it of course. Anyway I’m off to enjoy the rest of my weekend. I’ll blog more later.

Last Friday I met Janet Phillips. Yes her, the wonderful template designer from Scrapbookgraphics!!! Her family went here for a couple of days and I was able to meet them. I had dinner with her and the gang (oh the kiddos were great especially her sweet eldest daughter). After dinner we all went back to the hotel and when all the kids were in bed we went out again and have coffee at The Coffee Bean. We talked for hours about scrapbooking and being mommies. She inspired me to take more pictures
Speaking of pictures, here we are…

Thanks for hanging out with me Janet. It was really great meeting you and your family. Til your next visit
